The challenge of theater
Recording a theater performance is a specialized skill. Lighting conditions change constantly: from pitch dark to bright backlight. Moreover, you don't want to disturb the audience with large cameras and bright lights.
Specialized equipment
We use light-sensitive 4K cameras with professional lenses that handle the high contrast of theater lighting perfectly. Our operators wear dark clothing and work with shielded monitors to remain invisible to the audience.
Respect for the performance
We work closely with the theater's lighting and sound technicians. We tap the sound directly from the mixing console and add ambient microphones for audience reactions (applause, laughter). This way, the recording sounds just as spacious as being in the room.
