What must a good location meet?
The success of a livestream stands or falls with the facilities on location. A beautiful historic hall can be a nightmare for technology if the acoustics are poor and there is no wired internet available.
**Internet is the lifeline**
The most important requirement is a stable, wired internet connection (no WiFi!). Although we always bring our own 4G/5G bonding routers as a backup, a landline on location is crucial for a 100% reliable broadcast.
**Light and sound**
A lot of daylight is nice for the atmosphere, but difficult for cameras due to changing lighting. The ability to darken the room is a big plus. In addition, acoustics are important: a hollow space with a lot of glass and concrete creates an unpleasant sound for the online viewer.
Our location scouting checklist
This is what we pay attention to during a location visit
Connectivity
Is there a wired network connection with sufficient upload speed (minimum 20 Mbps)?
Power supply
Are there enough free and clean power groups available for lighting and direction?
Acoustics
Does the room not sound too hollow and is there no disturbing ambient noise (like air conditioning)?
Space for technology
Is there enough space at the back of the room (approx. 3x2 meters) for the direction desk?
Need help choosing?
We are happy to think along with you or perform a technical inspection at your intended location.
